Plane on Plane. 2005 Dimensions Variable

Plane on Plane features the repeated use of a form most people are well acquainted with: paper airplanes. I folded and attached 5,280 paper airplanes in this installation, configuring and arranging them in a random pattern, working to create a visual commentary on how people construct reality and imbue time, objects, and places with significance and power.

When making paper airplanes, we anoint ourselves with anonymous titles... sculptor or engineer. Revisiting them proves their timelessness and unmistakable beauty, caught in each structural fold. In revealing the process of creation — to build something from nothing — the forms speak of undeniable power.

Plane on Plane. September 2005

Plane on Plane features the repeated use of a form that most people are well acquainted with: folded paper airplanes. Employing 5,280 paper airplanes, I have configured and arranged them on the gallery wall to creating a visual commentary on how people construct reality and imbue time, objects, and places with significance and power.
